Lasers Videos

  1. Optimize Your Laser Processes

On the third and final day of the Photonics West 2015 exhibition, John McCauley with Ophir Photonics gave us a quick tutorial on their laser performance measurement equipment   and how it can be used to help OEMs and system integrators optimize their laser processes while ensuring quality and consistency over time.

  2. Laser Damage Threshold Coatings, Conformal Coatings, And Photo-Pattern Coatings

Kevin Gibbons with Deposition Sciences, Inc. (DSI) gave us a quick rundown of what was on display for them at Photonics West in 2015. Check out the video for an up close look at some of their laser damage threshold coatings for complex shapes, as well as some examples of their photo-pattern coatings for use in optical applications for multi-spectral filters, and metallic coatings for soldering and hermetic sealing.

  3. New Galvano Scanner And Parallel Laser Beam Shifter At Photonics West 2015

Taiki Iida with Canon showed us some of their Galvano scanners that were on display this year, most notably two new models.

  4. Hyperspectral Imaging, Laser Beam Analysis, And Thermography Solutions

Herve Copin with Xenics showed us two exciting new product releases at Photonics West this year.

  5. Why Are You Still Using HeNe Lasers?

PD-LD’s booth has significantly grown since we last saw them. It might have something to do with their SLM 632.8 laser diode, a true alternative to HeNe lasers. Bob Struthers walked us through a side-by-side comparison of the two laser types, and the results are impressive, to say the least. If you’re still using an HeNe laser, you probably want to watch this.

  6. PD-LD | Our Story

PD-LD is a manufacturer of customized laser products, headquartered in Pennington, New Jersey, USA.

  7. PD-LD | Custom VBG® Solutions

PD-LD is a manufacturer of customized laser products, headquartered in Pennington, New Jersey, USA.

  8. SERDS | The Next Generation Of Raman Spectroscopy

PD-LD's LS-2 LabSource is a dual-source benchtop module features two laser sources, rendering it unique relative to other benchtop Raman modules. These laser sources are VBG-stabilized, and are available in standard and custom wavelengths.

  9. New Developments In 2014 For OptoSigma

On day two of the Optics and Photonics 2014 exhibition, OptoSigma's Brad Kaup  discussed a recent milestone his company hit. He also provided a closer look at a newly launched global catalog and presented some of the products OptoSigma had on display for laser processing, micromachining, biomedical, flow cytometry, and fluorescence detection applications.

  10. Dynamic Laser Interferometer In Action

Barbara Carr with Zygo kicked off day two of Photonics Online's Optics and Photonics 2014 coverage by introducing the DynaFiz — a dynamic laser interferometer designed to measure the surface form of optics in the presence of turbulent air, or in environments susceptible to extreme vibrations. Watch the video to see it in action.
