Ophir Photonics announced at SPIE Photonics West 2016 the new M2 Beam Propagation software for the Pyrocam™ family of pyroelectric laser beam profiling cameras. Designed for measuring laser quality, the software incorporates M2calculations that predict how a laser will focus and beam propagation parameters (BPP) that describe how the laser diverges as a function of the beam waist width.

Ophir Photonics announced at SPIE Photonics West 2016 a new Android app that brings laser power/energy measurements to Android smartphones and tablets called StarViewer. StarViewer can be used with virtually any Ophir thermopile, photodiode, or pyroelectric PE-C laser sensor. Data can be displayed in a variety of formats: time-based line graph, needle display, or large numeric display with statistics.

Ophir Photonics Group announced today the release of the 3A-PF-12 thermal power/energy laser measurement sensor for short pulsed lasers. The new sensor replaces the P type absorber with the high damage threshold PF type, giving it the industry's highest energy density damage threshold for repetitive pulses.

Ophir Photonics recently announced the release of four new thermal laser sensors designed for measuring high pulse energies without needing large, water-cooled devices. Designed for use with high powered lasers, the L40(150)A, L40(150)A-LP1, L50(150)A, and L30C-LP1-26-SH are compact sensors that measure high laser energies up to 8000J.

Ophir Photonics recently announced the release of their newest version of BeamWatch, the only non-contact beam monitoring system for high power YAG, and diode lasers used in industrial material processing applications. The new version has additional 3D views, time charts, and dynamic measurements of industrial laser spot sizes down to 55µm.

U.S. Army & Ophir-Spircon Partner in Recruiting Program

The U.S. Army Recruiting Command and Ophir-Spiricon company recently signed an agreement stating that qualified Soldiers participating in the Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program will have priority hiring status. Harmon, Commander of the Salt Lake City Army Recruiting Battalion, signed the agreement with Gary Wagner, General Manager of Ophir-Spiricon, during a ceremony at Bridgerland Applied Technology College.

Ophir Photonics announces StarBright, a new laser power/energy meter, at the LASER World of PHOTONICS 2015. The StarBright meter measures power, single shot energy, repetitive energy, frequency, and beam size for a wide range of thermal, pyroelectric, and photodiode laser sensors. StarBright features a brightly lit, 320x240 pixel color display with large, 16mm digits for enhanced readability of power and energy measurements, from pW's to kW's and pJ's to hundreds of Joules.

Ophir Photonics has announced the arrival of three new high power, large aperture laser sensors, and very high power scatter shield accessories. The L2000W-BB-120 Very High Power Water Cooled Thermal Sensors, L100(500) A-PF-120 High Peak Power Thermal Sensor, and 10K-W and 30K-W Scatter Shields are available now, while the 6000W-BB-200x200 will be available in two months.
