Schott introduces Foturan II Glass Wafer

Schott introduces the new and improved photo-sensitive glass Foturan II, which highlights the company’s expanded thin glass and wafer portfolio, at SPIE Photonics West. Its unique properties allow a high aspect ratio, and therefore enable radio frequency (RF) components and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) manufacturers to create substrates with significantly finer structures for various applications. Schott will present Foturan II wafers for the first time at SPIE Photonics West (booth #1314).

The 2016 Prism Awards For Photonics Innovation winners were named today at Photonics West in San Fransisco, California. The nine product winners provide valuable new capabilities such as more effectively identifying drugs to target specific diseases, enhanced detail-rich portable imaging, and new sensing tools for applications from medical diagnostics to astronomy, and 3D-printing of precision glass. Winners from five countries were announced by industry leaders at a gala banquet.
