Company will showcase finished infrared (IR) optical components and thin film filters for biomedical, industrial, and defense applications at SPIE BiOS booth #8346 and Photonics West booth #4883, Feb. 2 - 7, 2019, Moscone Center, San Francisco.
Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O), provides optical thin film coatings and custom optical solutions for a wide variety of life science and biomedical applications. With the recently-announced installation of an in-situ optical monitoring and advanced rate control system, the company produces single- and multi-layered thin films with ultra-precision, up to 10x higher accuracy than previously available.
Precision Glass & Optics, announces the successful installation of a new optical monitoring system, the SL-2012A SpectraLock from Eddy Company. The advanced system provides in-situ optical monitoring and rate control to produce single and multi-layered thin films with ultra-precision and accuracy.
Precision Glass & Optics recently announced the customization of two thin film optical components for a high-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) accessory. They developed the dielectric cold mirror and cylindrical prism mirror for the Real Eye Nano; an advanced visual presentation and eye-tracking system constructed of glass and plastic with a reduced size for operation in confined MRI spaces.
Precision Glass & Optics (PG&0) recently announced the successful collaboration with the Laser Interferometric Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) team to develop and install specialty black glass plates that will be used to reduce noise, or unwanted electronic signals, in the observatory detectors. The two large interferometers are dedicated to the detection and measurement of cosmic gravitational waves for scientific research.
PG&O introduces new IR optical products and capabilities at Photonics West 2019. These new materials are composed of finished infrared optical components and current with potential applications in biomedical, night vision, military/defense, etc. markets.
This year at Photonics West, Dan Bukaty Jr. with PG&O discussed his company’s thin film coating capabilities. Watch the video to learn about their ability to coat large optics (up to 600mm in diameter), as well as a new system that allows them to monitor optical coatings in real-time, which ensures individual layer index accuracy, and the ability to measure layer thickness down to 1nm.
This year at Photonics West, Dan Bukaty with PG&O (Precision Glass & Optics) talked to us about how over 100 years of collective engineering experience at his organization has been leveraged to deliver high performance optics without breaking the bank.
At 2016’s Photonics West exhibition, Dan Bukaty talked to us about Precision Glass & Optics’ (PG&O) view on partnering with their customers.
BOROFLOAT®, the world’s first borosilicate glass by SCHOTT, has become one of the most influential specialty glass materials with its thermal stability, superior surface quality, and remarkably high transmission for utilization in research applications such as its implementation in the Hobby Eberly Telescope.
Specialized thin film optical coatings are currently being designed into customized displays that serve to modify the viewing angle and eliminate unwanted stray light that would otherwise distract the pilot(s) and crew in commercial and military aircraft cockpits.
This application note provides information on the benefits of SWIR imaging in harsh or low-light level conditions, and PG&O's capabilities in manufacturing optical components for SWIR imaging.
PG&O finished infrared (IR) optics are designed for a wide range of applications, including biomedical, industrial, military/defense, homeland security, surveillance systems, automotive, fire control, lasers, night vision, and more. These new optics operate from 0.75 µm, the near-infrared (NIR), out to 15 µm, the longwave-infrared (LWIR) spectrum.
In the past, a thin-film design software was used to help develop the coating, but the real challenge was in actually replicating the design thickness and the material indexes inside the coating chamber, without any errors.
PG&O’s Precision Optical Fabrication facility specializes in Plano optical components. Our many years of industry experience enable us to interact with your engineers in order to produce needed components rapidly -- without sacrificing quality or cost-effectiveness.
