ABOUT US
Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O®) is an industry leader in complete turnkey optical solutions for operation in the 0.2 µm (UV) to 15 µm (IR) wavelength range. We provide precision and commercial components from 0.040 inches up to 30 inches diameter, including reliable and cost-effective, high-precision thin-film coatings, polished optics and prisms, custom and standard components, and complete fabrication services.
With our extensive in-house glass materials and coated substrates inventory, we offer unparalleled fast service on a wide variety of optical materials, including mirrors, windows, micro sheets, and glass. We are expert in glass fabrication and assembled optics ranging from square, rectangular, and circular parts to sophisticated and complex shapes for industries such as military/defense, biophotonics, life sciences, avionics, solar, digital cinema, imaging, displays, homeland security, medical, and more.
The company’s recently acquired PR Hoffman 5400 double-sided polishing (DSP) machine permits us to deliver parts in a fraction of the time, with remarkable dimensional accuracy and superior surface integrity. Whether you require high-precision optical components, semiconductor wafers, aerospace parts or medical devices, our new DSP capability ensures unrivalled surface quality and consistency in every batch.
Ask about our finished infrared optics and our highly durable sapphire optics for mission-critical applications. We also provide a unique re-polishing service that can salvage previously fabricated thin-film optics. This proprietary process can save an optics manufacturer time and money by replacing a dielectric coating that has been damaged during the manufacturing process or one that does not meet specifications.
Since 1985, PG&O has been developing specialized optical solutions for precision and commercial applications globally. From our 18,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Santa Ana, California, we deliver a broad array of products from flats, prisms, and beamsplitters, to precision dichroic, dielectric, and metal thin-film coatings.
Our extensive glass substrates inventory combines with our expanded double-sided polishing services, and other fabrication capabilities such as CNC machining, slicing, sawing, scribing, edging, and assembly, to offer the best possible solutions for your challenging optical requirements.
PG&O's quality control (QC) system utilizes the fundamentals of MIL-I-45208A as well as the optical manufacturing disciplines of MIL-PRF-13830B. We are fully equipped to handle many types of custom optics, from prototype through high-volume production. Our quality system is compliant with ISO 9002; we maintain these and other QC principles to meet and/or exceed customer specifications.
We have two large coating chambers and an expert, in-house engineering staff to assure continuity and supply optical solutions to meet the vital demands of military, aerospace, biomedical, imaging, laser, avionics, digital cinema, life sciences, solar, display, homeland security, automotive, and emerging markets. From simple optics and plano optical components to complex shapes, precision and multilayer thin films, intricate assemblies, and custom optical design solutions, PG&O is your key supplier.
Privately held, we emphasize highest quality, durability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness to meet our customer's strictest deadlines, product specifications, and budgets. Our friendly executive team and staff of engineering experts are available to answer your questions about precision thin-film coatings, glass fabrication, and custom or commercial optical solutions.
