    MKS Instruments, Inc. announces the release of the Newport XPS-D Universal Motion Controller and Driver, the new flagship of the  Newport high-performance 8 axis motion controllers. Equipped with the new universal digital driver card, XPS-DRV11, the XPS-D is capable of controlling a wide variety of motor types including stepper, DC, DC brushless and direct drive motors. The XPS-D controller is compatible with all Newport electromechanical stages and provides backward-compatibility to the Newport XPS-Q driver cards and API’s.

  3. MKS Introduces Newport Industrial Vertical Stage With High Load Capacity

    MKS Instruments, Inc. announces the release of the Newport IDL280-Z20 vertical stage for industrial applications that require high load capacities. Based on a proven and modular wedge design, the IDL280-Z20 provides a minimum incremental motion (MIM) of 0.1 µm over 20 mm of travel with smooth motion for fine positioning. A precision ball screw drive with 2mm pitch is able to move loads up to 500N with a speed of 5 mm/s.

The H-825 provides a self-locking load capacity up to 30 kg (66lbs). The motion range is up to 55mm (linear) and up to 38 degrees (rotation). High system precision is guaranteed by absolute encoders and an actuator resolution of 8 nanometers – with excellent position repeatability of ±0.1µm and ±2µrad, respectively.

    PI (Physik Instrumente) L.P., known industry-wide for nanometer precision motion components, systems, and OEM solutions, announces a new compact closed-loop motion controller. The new E-871.1A1N digital servo controller is the latest model in a series of drivers and controllers specifically designed for inertia-motor based opto-mechanical actuators (piezo ratchet drives) that are widely used in the semiconductor, laser and photonics industry for fine-tuning of complex systems. The miniature actuators are often employed as “set-and-forget” mechanisms with an option to remotely make adjustments, where manual micrometer screws would necessitate a system-shutdown to allow for corrections. Other application fields include bio-nanotechnology, microscopy, and micro-manipulation.
