High Definition (HD) Camera Videos

  1. Achieving HD, Full Color Video In Low Light
    4/21/2016

On the last day of SPIE’s 2016 DCS exhibition in Baltimore, Kevin Fogarty with Canon showed us a 19 micron pixel pitch sensor that can achieve a full color and high definition image in extremely low light environments.

  2. 3 Considerations Before Purchasing A SWIR Imager
    4/20/2016

At SPIE’s DCS 2016 exhibition, Sensors Unlimited — UTC Aerospace Systems, Brendan Murphy, spent some time with Photonics Online to school us up on the three primary things one should consider before purchasing a SWIR imager — resolution, global availability, and cost.

  3. Car Safety Testing Using the pco.dimax cs Camera
    5/13/2015

The pco.dimax cs camera with its true 12-bit performance is ideal for providing crisp, brilliant color images for all car safety testing applications involving onboard, offboard, and sled testing. This high speed video presents car safety testing situations recorded with the pco.dimax cs camera.

  4. Ladybug Takes Off In Slow Motion
    11/21/2014

This particular sequence was recorded with at pco.dimax HD CMOS camera at 3,000 frames-per-second and 1296 x 720 pixel resolution. Once the ladybug unfolds its wings, the display speed is reduced to 25 fps.

  5. Fishing Kingfisher in Slow Motion II
    11/19/2014

The pco.dimax HD is a high-speed, 12-bit CMOS camera ideal for a variety of slow-motion capture applications. In this video example, Rainer Bergomaz from Blue Paw Artists used one of these cameras with 1920 x 1440 pixel resolution @ 1060 frames/s to capture sequences of young kingfishers trying (successfully, in some instances) to catch fish.

  6. Magic Drops In Slow Motion
    11/13/2014

Blue Paw Artists’ Rainer Bergomaz and Daniel Nimmervoll used the pco.dimax HD high-speed camera to capture water droplet sequences, showing that slow motion imagery is just as appealing aesthetically as it is scientifically.

  7. Infrared Dolphin Adventure
    7/18/2013

In this video, the T640 infrared camera and SC8300 HD IR camera are used to capture infrared images of dolphins in action at the Hilton Waikoloa. In addition to some interesting images in general, this video highlights how infrared imaging can be used in animal medicine applications to detect hot spots on the dolphins.

  8. Blue Angels Flight Squadron In Infrared
    7/18/2013

This video features images of the Blue Angels Flight Squadron in action at the Pease Airfield taken with FLIR’s SC83000 HD infrared camera.

  9. Ballistic Flight
    6/27/2012

The Full HD pco.dimax high speed camera captures a Great Tit's (parus majur) approach and landing to a birdhouse, the bird's departure, and then its sudden return. During this return the flight looks a bit like a ballistic "flying" with wings folded.

  10. Photron Highlights Military Applications Of Fastcam-SAX High-Speed Camera At SPIE DSS
    4/25/2012

Andrew Bridges, director of sales and marketing at Photron, shows the new Fastcam-SAX high-speed camera and discusses its ability to record megapixel resolution of 1000 x 1000 at up to 12,500 fps. He also discusses its application in the military market, and other markets as well.
