Fiber Tips With Ball Lenses: Fiber End-Face Processing
8/13/2018
LASER COMPONENTS can now provide custom ball lens profiles on the end faces of silica fibers. The plasma-based CMS process with ring-of-fire technology supports fiber diameters of 200, 365, 400, 550 and 600 μm, including other diameters within the limits of the equipment. For fibers used in medical applications, end-face processing can be carried out in a clean room in accordance with ISO 13485. The entire process is also compliant to ISO 13485 hygiene requirements.

FLEXPOINT Long Range Laser Module: Precise Positioning Over Long Distances
5/31/2018
With its FLEXPOINT Long Range Line Module, LASER COMPONENTS has developed a highly-precise positioning tool for long distances. Even at 50 m, the line is only 4 m long and can be adjusted to line widths of a few millimeters with an easy-to-use focusing device. The FLEXPOINT LR-L module is available with red (660 nm) or green (520 nm) lines. Customers have the choice of any output power in a range between 5 mW and 30 mW.

New Linear APD Arrays For Lidar Measuring
5/1/2018
The LASER COMPONENTS Detector Group expands its standard range of linear Si APD arrays by LCC44 housings containing 8 and 16 elements. The SMD components can be mounted on circuit boards, while also providing enough space for the integrated multi-channel amplifier circuit. Their operation only requires the voltage for the array and 5 V for the electronics.

Low-Cost Avalanche Photodiode In An M1 Package
4/10/2018
LASER COMPONENTS has announced that its cost-effective SAH series of avalanche photodiodes (APDs) is now available in an M1 package. This is the smallest available SMD housing (Surface-Mounted Device), at only 2 mm x 1.4 mm. The new APDs will be presented at SPIE DCS in Orlando, Florida (Booth 1029).

New High Precision Alignment Lasers With Small Beam Diameter
3/7/2018
LASER COMPONENTS presents two additions to its portfolio of high-precision alignment lasers: LT-PLM-635-01-C1 and LT-PLM-IRB-635-01-C1. At the exit point, the beams of these precision modules feature diameters of 1 mm and a squint angle of just 0.05 mrad, which equals 5/100 mm per meter distance from the target. With standard modules, the aberration from the center of the housing is considerably higher at 8.7 mm.
