Bedford, NH – November 05, 2020 - LASER COMPONENTS USA, Inc. is pleased to announce its new VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) product line in partnership with supplier Brightlaser Limited. This addition is complimenting LASER COMPONENTS offerings of optoelectronic components.

What does the “brightest in the bunch mean”? VCSEL technology emits light from the top surface of the chip, with ability to be tested on-wafer prior to being cleaved into individual devices, thereby reducing fabrication costs. VCSELS are built in one- and two-dimensional arrays with larger output apertures in wavelengths of 808, 850 and 940 nm.

With their high beam quality output, and superb reliability, the high power and short pulse sequence of the compact multi-mode lasers make this technology attractive for the LiDAR, Range-Finding, ADAS and Proximity Sensor markets. The properties of low temperature dependence of emitted wavelengths ensure greater ranges and higher resolutions.

Some of the varied applications for VCSELs include use in autonomous vehicles, golf, military, or gesture recognition. “The addition of VCSELs into our product line provide us with the ability to expand our offerings of high-quality photonics components, stated Matt Robinson, sales director LASER COMPONENTS USA, Inc. This market is slated to grow rapidly in the next ten years. With our attention to excellence, customization, and outstanding customer service, we are confident in providing our customers’ the exact solutions they are looking for”.
