MKS Introduces The Industry's First Lightweight, Continuous Zoom Lens Optimized For 10-12 Micron Pixel Size Uncooled LWIR Cameras

Paris, France – MKS Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of technologies that enable advanced processes and improve productivity, has announced the Ophir® LightIR™ 15-75mm f/1.2 zoom lens, a new member of the LightIR family of lightweight, continuous zoom lenses, at Eurosatory 2018. The LightIR 15-75mm f/1.2 is the first compact, thermal imaging lens optimized specifically for uncooled 10-12µm pixel size long-wave infrared (LWIR) detectors. It is designed for use in a wide range of reduced size, weight, and power (SWaP) applications including unmanned aerial systems (UAS), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), aircraft vision systems, drones, and handheld applications such as thermal goggles.

The newest LightIR product is a compact, high performance, motorized continuous zoom lens with a focal length of 15-75mm. At only 320g, it is one of the lightest weight, continuous zoom lenses on the market. It maintains sharp focus over the entire zoom range. The mechanical/ electrical interface assures easy integration into camera systems.
