BeamSquared Camera-Based Beam Propagation Analyzer: M2

BeamSquared™ is a high accuracy M2 laser beam propagation system that measures beam quality to optimize performance in continuous use applications, from scientific research to rapid prototyping to fabrication and machining. A compact, portable device, the system provides automated measurements of the propagation characteristics of CW and pulsed lasers in under one minute. It is durable and operationally robust, ensuring reliable, high accuracy measurements of lasers. Users can run the system in automated mode from UV to NIR, and telecom wavelengths, and in manual mode for terahertz and CO2 laser beams.

BeamSquared is equipped with mirrors that direct the focused laser beam into the camera to precise locations, and then translate the beam through the near field, waist, and far regions. All measurements, translations, and incremental beam attenuation are automatically controlled by the BeamSquared software. The BeamSquared system has now decreased the reporting time by two to three times, making it possible to present M2 reports in under a minute.
