The new Avalanche Photodiode (APD) Series delivers high gain, low noise, and fast response across the visible to shortwave infrared spectrum.
Each APD combines precision performance with reliability, engineered and tested in a U.S. fabrication facility.
The series includes two silicon models with 500 µm active areas covering 400–1100 nm, and one InGaAs model with a 200 µm active area covering 900–1700 nm. These detectors provide high responsivity—up to 1.0 A/W at 1550 nm and 0.55 A/W at 905 nm—ensuring consistent, efficient photon detection. Hermetically sealed TO packages maintain stability under extreme temperatures, vibration, and radiation, while low dark currents (as low as 0.2 nA) and sub-nanosecond rise times deliver superior signal fidelity.
Designed for versatility, the APD Series supports a broad range of applications, including LiDAR, laser rangefinding, optical communications, spectroscopy, medical imaging, and aerospace and defense systems. These detectors perform reliably in laboratory settings as well as in space-grade environments, providing high-performance optical detection where precision is critical.
