Source: Laser Components USA, Inc.

The eye’s imaging system consists of the cornea and a lens system comprising the anterior chamber, eye lens, and vitreous body. If the formation of one of these becomes “non-ideal,” vision becomes defective and leads to corrective lenses or other types of operative vision repair. In ophthalmology, lasers are used for refractive surgery to burn, cut, or remove objects to achieve optimal refractive power. This article discusses the use of excimer and/or femtosecond lasers in multiple types of operations to correct defective vision. Download the full article below for more information.
