The Opto Diode ODA-6WB-500M is a blue/green-enhanced photodiode-preamplifier designed for precision optical detection across a range of low-light applications.

Featuring a large 6 mm² active area (3.30 mm x 1.78 mm), the device delivers high sensitivity and low noise performance in a compact, hermetically sealed TO-39 package. With a typical transimpedance gain of 500 MΩ and a sensitivity of 100 V/µW at 450 nm, the ODA-6WB-500M is optimized for detecting blue to green wavelengths, making it ideal for analytical instruments and scientific detection systems.

Electro-optical characteristics measured at 23°C reveal a dark offset of ±2 mV, and a dark offset noise of 500 µV RMS over a 0.1 to 135 kHz bandwidth. The photodiode achieves a –3 dB frequency response between 100 and 130 Hz and a noise-equivalent power (NEP) of just 4 fW/√Hz, indicating excellent low-light detection capability. The device draws a typical supply current of 950 µA and operates within a supply voltage range of ±5 to ±15 V.

Its robust construction allows for reliable performance in operating temperatures ranging from –25°C to +100°C, withstanding soldering temperatures up to +260°C for brief durations. Custom gain configurations are available, further enhancing its application flexibility.
