Alkali Free Boro-Aluminosilicate Glass: AGC EN-A1
Source: Abrisa Technologies

Highly transmissive, thin, alkali-free, boro-aluminosilicate glass from Asahi Glass Corporation (AGC) is designed for use in highly sensitive bio-photo detection applications, high throughput sensor applications, as enhancement glass for thin displays, and as cover glass for micro arrays.
The AGC EN-A1 features a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of 38 x 10-7, making the material well matched to silicon, and a great economical choice for use as a glass polishing substrate for the thinning process of semiconductor chips supporting low profile electronic device manufacture.
Additional key features include:
- Standard thickness of 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 mm
- Sizes up to 25” x 20” (635 mm x 508 mm)
- High Transmittance from 400-2300 nm
- Good chemical resistance
- Low fluorescence at genomic excitation wavelengths
