PicoQuant's yearly organized Single Molecule Workshop brings together users and developers from diverse fields such as Physics, Chemistry, as well as Biology. The workshop provides an interdisciplinary platform for experienced and young scientists to share their research and developments in ultrasensitive optical detection down to the single molecule level and beyond the classical diffraction limit. Eight distinguished researchers, including Nobel laureate W. E. Moerner, will present their recent work on ultrasensitive spectroscopy in a series of invited talks. The workshop program is rounded out by contributed presentations as well as a poster session. A welcome reception and workshop dinner provide participants with the opportunity for in-depth discussions between invited speakers and other attendees. Invited speakers W.E. Moerner (Stanford University, USA) Madhavi Krishnan (University of Zurich, Department of Chemistry, Switzerland) Dagmar Klostermeier (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany) Achilles Kapanidis (University of Oxford, UK) Niek van Hulst (ICFO -  Institute of Photonic Sciences Molecular Nanophotonics, Spain) Enrico Gratton (University of California at Irvine, USA) Bianxiao Cui (Stanford University, USA) Julie S. Biteen (University of Michigan, USA) Excerpt of topics Single molecule detection techniques, such as confocal fluorescence microscopy, widefield fluorescence microscopy, Scanning Nearfield Optical Microscopy (SNOM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Raman scattering High-resolution microscopy techniques, such as Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED), Localization microscopy (PALM, STORM, dSTORM, GSDIM), Fluctuation microscopy (SOFI) Other applications in current biological, biophysical and biochemical research projects Abstracts can be submitted until May 31, 2017. Registration is open until August 15, 2017.
