Sierra-Olympic Technologies, supplier of infrared (IR) and thermal imaging components, cameras, and systems solutions for innovative imaging applications, announces the new Viento HD IP67, a full HD 1080p thermal camera with an IP67 environmentally-rated enclosure. The unique, high-definition longwave-infrared (LWIR) imager is in a rugged housing that provides total protection against dust, and protects against the effects of water immersion to depths between 15 cm and 1 meter.
Sierra-Olympic Technologies recently introduced the affordable Viento-GT, an easy-to-use, thermographically-calibrated thermal camera. The Viento-GT is a highly reliable, high resolution and low-cost thermal imager that can deliver thermographically-calibrated digital data for every pixel. The camera is easy to power and control via a single Ethernet cable using the Gig-E Vision® and Power over Ethernet (PoE) standards.
HOOD RIVER, OR – January 23, 2017 – Sierra-Olympic Technologies, supplier of infrared (IR) and thermal imaging components, cameras, and systems solutions for innovative imaging applications, introduces the Viento-G, an easy-to-use, affordable thermal camera.
New Viento HD Lab LWIR camera provides true 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution.
Sierra-Olympic Technologies has recently introduced the Viento 67-640 thermal camera for perimeter surveillance, robotics, and other rugged outdoor imaging applications. The new thermal imager features a fixed focal length and fixed mount. With a 640 x 480, 17-micron thermal imaging core, the newest Viento camera provides standard NTSC/PAL composite analog video output with simultaneous 8-bit / 14-bit Camera Link® digital output
There are unique challenges involved in bringing infrared cameras up to the high-definition standards we’ve all grown accustomed to for cameras in the visible range. Chris Johnston with Sierra-Olympic Technologies spent a few minutes at DCS 2017 to speak about these challenges.
At Photonics West 2017, Chris Johnston with Sierra-Olympic talked to us about the challenges of developing high definition thermal imagers, as well as some of his company’s accomplishments regarding independent infrared imaging.
Sierra Olympic’s Chris Johnston had some really interesting displays to share with us at Photonics West in 2016. The first involved a thermography camera with resolution you need to see to believe.
Chris Johnston with Sierra-Olympic took time out of day two of the exhibition to show us the Vinden CZ. If you work in the security and surveillance space or have a project that requires thermal imaging with advanced continuous zoom capabilities, watch the video to see if its features and specifications match your needs.
The new Viento HD Lab camera is the first longwave infrared (LWIR) camera designed with true high-definition imaging at 1900 x 1200 pixel resolution. The camera is based on a unique 1920 x 1200 x 12 μm uncooled sensor, making the imager ideas for applications requiring the maximum number of pixels available in a thermal imaging system.
The Viento-G is a simple-to-use thermal camera designed for a wide array of thermal monitoring applications and custom OEM applications. The feature-rich thermal imager provides the ability to view and control the video and supply power using a single, standard Ethernet cable via GigE Vision® and Power over Ethernet (PoE) industry standards. It is available in either enclosed or split board configurations with standard or thermography imaging and data in either 320 x 240 or 640 x 480 resolutions.
The Vinden 105 EX and Vinden 150 EX are designed with a 35-105mm or 50-150mm lens, and a 12x zoom factor for a 640 x 480 resolution, or a 6x zoom factor for a 320 x 240 resolution. They also feature offer IP-video output with H.264 and MJPEG streams and Ethernet control. These cameras provide integration flexibility, and are ideal tools for security/surveillance integrators, or any other thermal video user requiring continuous zoom thermal imaging capabilities.
There can be many factors to deal with when looking to utilize the best field of view (FOV). This white paper covers the different types of FOV, the factors that must be considered for choosing a lens for FOV, and what lens focus does to FOV.
In thermal imaging, it is difficult to overcome the challenges of fewer pixels and lower resolution. As a solution, Sierra-Olympic offers arrays with 320 x 240 resolution and up.
