Company Overview

IRD Glass was founded in 1982 by Rick Fiskum who was an entrepreneur with Litchfield Precision Components.  He and some colleagues started calling their new company Industrial Research and Development.  The company’s initial manufacturing efforts focused on Zerodur components for aerospace, and precision optics for a variety of electro-optic sensor customers which also included the wafer and circuit board inspection industry.
