Vytran To Demonstrate Precision Optical Fiber Splicing And Processing Equipment At OFC/NFOEC 2009
Vytran, an innovative supplier of fiber fusion splicing, assembly and glass processing solutions, will demonstrate its complete portfolio of optical fiber splicing and processing equipment at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition (OFC) and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC) 2009 from March 24-26 in San Diego, California. Vytran's equipment is used in high-precision, mid- to high-volume telecommunications manufacturing such as erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), dispersion compensation fiber module (DCF), and fiber Bragg grating (FBG) production.
"At our OFC/NFOEC booth, we'll be running demos of our equipment for filament fusion splicing, glass processing, large-diameter fiber cleaving and recoating," said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. - An FFS–2000 integrated fusion splicing workstation for high-performance splicing in volume production and other demanding applications.
- An LDC–200–G fully automated precision fiber cleaver that can produce flat and angled cleaves on large diameter fibers.
- Several PTR–200 fiber recoaters and proof testers for manual and high-volume automated optical fiber processing.
- A GPX–3400 glass processing platform for creating splices, tapers, couplers and combiners on optical fibers up to 1.5-mm diameter.
