Vytran Hires Sales Engineer For North America

Vytran, an innovative supplier of fiber fusion splicing, assembly and fiber-based glass processing solutions, has hired Jim Tracey as Sales Engineer for North America. Tracey will primarily focus on developing Vytran's business in the sensing, medical and research markets.

"Jim Tracey has over 20 years of experience working in the laser industry," said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. "He has held technical, engineering and sales positions with prominent photonics companies and has extensive knowledge of our market segments. We're very pleased to welcome him to the Vytran team."

Prior to joining Vytran, Tracey was the North American Business Development Manager for Newport Corporation's Spectra-Physics Semiconductor Laser Group, responsible for defense and aerospace, solid-state pumping, and direct-diode materials processing markets. He has also been International Sales Manager for Northrop Grumman Cutting Edge Optronics, where he managed the company's Australian, European, Middle Eastern, and South American territories, along with countries in Southeast Asia. Tracey has also worked as a fiber laser engineer at SDL and a laser engineer at Spectra-Physics' Laser Products Division.
