VC μ Check: Intelligent Vision Sensor For Semiconductor And Electronics Production

Source: Vision Components GmbH

Introducing the VC μ Check sensor, Vision Components offers a complete solution for quality control tasks in semiconductor back-end manufacturing and other micro-assembly applications where very small components must be inspected. The system consists of an intelligent camera with a 700 MHz processor and a computing power of 5,600 MIPS combined with a telecentric lens. Various integrated lighting types can be chosen to fit the requirements of individual applications: standard options are telecentric or dark field illumination and dome illumination providing homogeneous diffuse incident light. The telecentric lens allows for the detection of objects without any perspective distortion, enabling users to greatly improve the measuring accuracy. With a maximum resolution of 5 megapixels, the field of vision can be chosen between 7 x 11 and 30 x 40 mm. All VC μ Check sensors feature a freely programmable 100 MBit Ethernet interface that allows for live video output on a PC. Two digital inputs and four outputs facilitate integration into existing automation environments. Measuring approx. 15.8 x 9.8 x 6.5 cm, the housing is designed for use in seminconductor manufacturing machines. A dovetail profile enables quick and easy integration into existing machines.

About Vision Components GmbH
Vision Components GmbH, founded in 1996 by Michael Engel, inventor of the first intelligent camera for industrial applications, is a leading supplier in the field of machine vision. Branches and distributors represent the Ettlingen-based company worldwide in more than 25 countries. Vision Components develops and distributes intelligent, network-compatible real-time Smart Cameras, which are able to operate without a PC and can be integrated into almost any industrial facility. Typical applications include quality inspection and automation. Equipped with the proprietary multitasking VCRT operating system, VC Smart Cameras can be easily configured for all possible tasks. Furthermore, VC provides software libraries for a wide range of applications including motion capture, decoding, measurement, and positioning. Additionally, VC develops custom-tailored solutions for specific tasks such as wafer handling in the solar industry or OEM camera modules for medical devices technology.
