Raman spectroscopy is a non-invasive, highly sensitive technology that quantitatively probes and analyzes chemical compositions and structures without the need for sample preparation. In the past, this technology was not useful for plant-based samples due to their high levels of photosynthetic pigments as the fluorescent backgrounds can overwhelm Raman signals in all visible wavelengths. This issue is now resolved by BaySpec’s line of 1064 nm excitation dispersive Raman systems that offer maximum reduction in fluorescence interference.
