Thermo Hilger Crystals addresses demand for optoelectronic crystals
The agreement combines the expertise in manufacturing, quality control, and commercial marketing of Thermo Hilger Crystals with the R&D capabilities of The Crystal Consortium (TCP). TCC was formed by combining bulk optical materials facilities from DERA Malvern with the Optical Materials Research Centre at the University of Strathclyde to produce a new Joint Venture Company offering the high-powered research experience of the UK academic crystal science community.
"The investment in advanced facilities for the growth, assessment and processing of new industrial grade crystalline materials will enable us to lead the technology in our current markets while expanding into the opto-electronic crystal market especially for telecommunication applications," explained Jim Telfer, Managing Director of Thermo Hilger Crystals.
Thermo Hilger Crystals are a leading producer of scintillation and optical crystals and have been growing crystals for over fifty years. All crystals are produced to meet the precise specifications of individual customers.
