Thermal Imaging Cameras For R&D Applications: FLIR A6780 Series

Source: Teledyne FLIR

The FLIR A6780 series comprises thermal imaging cameras designed to easily measure the temperatures of rapid thermal events and fast-moving targets across a wide temperature range. With 327,680 (640 × 512) pixel resolution that achieve spatial resolutions down to 5 µm per pixel, these A6780 cameras are ideal choices for industrial, military, and manufacturing R&D applications.

The FLIR A6780 MWIR model cooled indium antimonide (InSb) camera offers a built-in, 3-position warm filter wheel for simple, remote switching between standard and high-temperature ranges. The A6780 also features short exposure times, advanced synchronization options, and high-speed windowed frame rates.

The FLIR A6780 SLS LWIR camera system features a cooled Strained Layer Superlattice (SLS) detector that provides faster snapshot speeds and crisper images than other detectors when imaging ambient temperature scenes. It also features a built-in, 3-position warm filter wheel for simple, remote switching between standard and high-temperature ranges.

Both models come with a full suite of lens options, including both manual and motor-focus lenses, provide the flexibility to maximize the number of measurement pixels on the object of interest regardless of size and distance.
