Princeton, NJ -- SUI (Sensors Unlimited, Inc.), part of Goodrich Corporation, specialists in near-infrared imaging using indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) imaging technology announces a breakthrough minicamera with windowing for high speed imaging. The new Windowed Snapshot MiniCamera (SU320MSW-1.7RT) is the first miniature near-infrared camera to feature full frame imaging with region of interest (ROI) windowing capabilities. Four preset ROI windows are available, in addition to user-selectable windows. The preset windows range in size from a 200 x 200 pixel window down to a 16 x 16 window. The windows are positioned in the center of the imager and operate at the maximum frame rate possible, depending on the ROI window size. At 16 x 16 pixels, the camera’s maximum frame rate is over 10,000 frames per second. In addition to the preset windows, the camera can also be controlled by serial commands that permit users complete control over the ROI window size, position and integration time.

Ideal for capturing high speed events or pulsed activities, SUI's advanced short-wave infrared Windowed Snapshot MiniCamera has a resolution of 320 x 256 on a 25 micron pitch and can operate in daylight or room lit conditions. Full frame imaging is simultaneously delivered via composite video and 12-bit digital RS-422. The solid-state, high sensitivity (from 900 nm to 1700 nm) near-infrared camera delivers 100% fill factor and greater than 70 per cent quantum efficiency from 1000 nm to 1600 nm. With on-board non-uniformity corrections (NUCs) and anti-blooming protection for excellent image quality, SUI’s compact InGaAs imager operates at room temperature, drawing less than 1.6 W of power.

Applications include pulsed laser beam profiling, short-wave infrared machine vision of fast-moving objects, motion analysis and thermal imaging of combustion or rocket plumes.

SUI, founded in 1991 to pioneer design and production of near-infrared detectors, is the world leader in indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) imaging technology. With in-house capabilities, SUI manufactures advanced infrared cameras, short-wave and near-IR focal plane arrays and revolutionary high speed PIN and avalanche photodiodes. Their proprietary foundry and expertise delivers reliable, high performance products for a variety of critical military, security, industrial, commercial and telecommunications industries. Applications include covert surveillance, machine vision, night vision, health and safety protocols, historical art inspection and more.
