Application Note: Standoff Oil Sands' Characterization

Source: TELOPS

Hyperspectral imagery can help the oil sands industry most critical aspects of productivity, cost saving, and reducing environmental impact in several different ways. Two methods to note are the ability to remotely predict oil concentration in situ prior to the bitumen process extraction, and the visualization of soft tailings to help gain a better understanding of mineral occurrence and distribution for deposit characterization on tailing operations. This application note discusses the use of Telops’ Hyper-Cam ability to provide hyperspectral imagery for these applications.
