3 - SpecPro™ Connector Polisher

SpecPro™ delivers high-speed, cost-effective polishing of bare fibers and connectors in a compact system built for R&D and field environments.

The SpecPro™ Connector Polisher is a comprehensive solution for precision surface processing, bridging the gap between portable field tools and full-scale manufacturing systems. It is specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of low-volume cable assembly and specialized R&D projects where single-mode optical performance is critical. The system is capable of simultaneously polishing up to four components, including industry-standard connectors, multifiber ferrules, MIL-spec termini, and bare fibers. This flexibility extends to complex applications such as optical bundles, endoscopes, and waveguides, making it a valuable asset for the medical and aerospace sectors.

A defining feature of the SpecPro™ is Krell’s proprietary independent suspension system. This technology ensures that each connector position maintains consistent pressure and alignment, leading to Telcordia-compliant results for both UPC and APC finishes. For bare fiber applications, the system supports a wide range of diameters from 80 microns to over 1.5 mm using specialized adapters. Additionally, the SpecPro™ is an ideal platform for repairing and retro-polishing damaged connectors, offering a cost-effective way to restore components to peak optical performance.

For enhanced quality control, the SpecPro™ workholders can interface directly with the SpecVision™ Video Inspection System. This integration allows for in-line viewing of fiber finishes while the components remain loaded in the polisher, significantly streamlining the verification process. Despite its advanced capabilities, the unit remains highly portable with a compact 7 inch by 4.5 inch footprint and a weight of only 4.5 lbs. Supporting both AC and battery operation, the SpecPro™ provides reliable, high-quality termination in any environment, from the laboratory bench to remote field installations.
