Specialised Imaging Ltd. have recently been named as a winner of The Queen's Awards for Enterprise:Innovation 2011 - the UK's most prestigious accolade for business success.

The company was given the award for its innovation in the continuous development of a range of ultra-high-speed imaging systems used in military and scientific applications and its sustained growth in exports sales for these products over recent years.

Specialised Imaging ultra-high-speed imaging systems record, and measure parameters associated with high-speed events. The range includes a camera, which captures 32 high-resolution frames at a billion frames per second, used in materials, medical and biological research, and another camera, which takes 11 million pixel images at an exposure time of 10 nanoseconds, used in ballistic impact analysis. Specialised Imaging also produce a video projectile tracking system, specially designed for applications in sports science and munitions testing.
