Ideal for applications with small-area imaging requirements, the SITe SI-502A 512 x 512 pixel format CCD is designed to image scenes efficiently at low-light-levels. This full frame area device is available in front-illuminated or thinned, back-illuminated versions. SITe's unique thinning and back surface enhancement process offers increased blue and UV response in a flat and fully supported die, which is more rugged and easier to cool uniformly than fragile edge-supported chips. The imager is mounted in non-hermetic metal packages without a window. This imager is also manufactured as a TEC version, which is a thermo-electrically-cooled device that is sealed to eliminate thermal management problems.
