Datasheet: Industrial Diode Laser System: IDL 200 Series
The JDSU IDL 200 Series systems provide up to 200 watts of multimode laser output by combining our highly reliable L4 single-emitter diode lasers, fused fiber delivery, and advanced control systems. Designed for ease of integration and operation, the IDL 200 Series products use internal fans for cooling, and require only standard wall-plug power. System control is available through analog or RS232 ports, or a combination of the two. Novel health monitoring provides for active evaluation and communication of critical electrical and environmental parameters.
By incorporating JDSU L4 single-emitter diodes, the IDL 200 Series systems commonly exceed customer expectations for lifetime and reliability. Unlike bar-based industrial diode laser products, single-emitter architecture offers exceptional thermal isolation between emitters, individual device monitoring and control, and simple low-cost serviceability. Continuous wave and pulsed operation is allowed, and modulation does not impact product lifetime. An all-in-glass design insures resistance to internal contamination under the most demanding operational environments.
The IDL 200 Series systems incorporate a system-wide approach to operational health monitoring, assuring that system status is clearly communicated to the operator in real time. Multipoint monitoring includes individual diode output status and critical electrical and environmental parameters. Health reporting takes place through RS-232 interface, USB, and front pane-mounted visual indicators. A continuously updated system health log file is available through the front panel-mounted USB port for easy retrieval and review. Careful management of soft system errors allow operators time to correct electrical or environmental issues while the device remains online.
The IDL 200 Series systems are supplied with either 400 µm or 600 µm, 0.22 NA delivery fiber terminated with an SMA905 connector. An optional focusing termination module provides for a round, top hat beam profile by reimaging the fiber face at a working distance of 85 mm.
