Service Cable Assembly

A fiber-based service cable assembly allows telecommunications and cable television providers to branch from a splice closure on an overhead fiberoptic line to an active fiber termination point such as a fiber node or optical network unit. The fiber at one end of the cable terminates in single-mode connectors and a feed-through device that provides complete enclosure of all O-rings after installation to protect the fibers from cable movement. The assembly is available in either armored or all-dielectric cable. Connector options include factory-installed ST, FC, SC, FC/APC, and SC/APC types. Protection options include spiral wrap and breakout furcation with either 900-µm jacket or 2.5-mm jacket.
