At the Defense, Security and Sensing Conference in Baltimore, MD - SCHOTT Defense, a division of SCHOTT North America, Inc., is exhibiting (booth 1519) its innovations in military-application glass and optics technologies at the Defense Security and Sensing (DSS) trade show in Baltimore from April 23 to 27.
After more than 40 years of producing innovative advanced glass solutions for the U.S. military, SCHOTT Defense continues to enhance and customize optical glass, IR transparent glasses, fiber optic and filtered glass components for military all-terrain vehicles, night vision systems, advanced cockpits and more.
During the DSS show, SCHOTT Defense scientists and research experts will highlight the company’s developments through six presentations.
Optical Design and Assembly Capabilities

Broadband AR Coatings from SCHOTT

Broadband AR coatings: Schott has added U.S. capability for anti-reflective coating. Multiwavelength, Single wavelength, and Broadband Antireflection coatings for the UV, VIS, NIR are available. The demonstration will be held on Thursday, April 26, at 12:30 p.m.
SCHOTT Defense innovations in military glass and optics technologies are developed from R&D stage to design and manufacturing at the company’s Duryea, PA and Southbridge, MA plants. Last year, SCHOTT invested $2M and expanded the Duryea site, which also serves as its U.S. Research and Development center, by opening a new optical coatings facility.
DSS is organized annually by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. SCHOTT and SPIE’s relationship spans more than 30 years and has resulted in more than 100 academic papers and reports about innovative optics and photonics manufacturing.
