SCHOTT SUPREMAX 33 Now Widely And Readily Available In North America
SCHOTT North America, Inc. announced recently at the SPIE Photonics West show that SUPREMAX 33 borosilicate glass is now available throughout a wide network of distributors in North America from coast to coast. SUPREMAX 33 replaces ultra-thick Corning PYREX, which is no longer available on the market.
SUPREMAX 33 shares identical properties of SCHOTT's borosilicate glass BOROFLOAT 33: it combines low thermal expansion and high thermal resistance, excellent light transmission and impressive chemical durability. The critical difference is in the production processes. SUPREMAX 33 is a rolled borosilicate, while BOROFLOAT 33 is a floated glass. SUPREMAX 33 is available in a wide range of thicknesses up to the ultra-thick glass of 66.7 mm. With a low density that makes it 12 percent lighter than soda lime glass, SUPREMAX is a highly versatile material suitable for an unlimited array of applications.
"SCHOTT is the only manufacturer worldwide who has developed a manufacturing process to create low thermal expansion borosilicate glass in unique sizes," said Karen Elder, Marketing Manager at SCHOTT North America."SCHOTT now offers a high quality and durable borosilicate glass solution that meets an even wider range of industry needs."
