Satellite-To-Ground Comms Make A Leap Forward

The award of a 2M Euro contract to the G&H Group by the European Space Agency has been made to develop the next generation of optical amplifiers. These devices will enable multi-Tbit/s free space optical communication links (FSOC) between satellites and ground-stations. As such it marks a significant step forward in the development of the next generation amplifiers and brings satellite-to-ground communication one step closer to a commercial reality.
