A fully integrated, low-cost Raman spectroscopy system incorporates a 500mW solid-state laser to excite the sample, an SMA-terminated fiber optic probe to collect the backscattering (signal) from the sample, a 2048-element CCD linear array spectrometer (~785-1000 nm) to detect and analyze signal from 200-2700 cm-1 , an ISA-bus A/D card for desktop-PC interface, and Windows-based operating software for real-time acquisition and display of spectral data. The Raman Systems R-2000 offers an economical alternative to larger, more expensive Raman analyzers and FT-IR spectrometers for applications in the chemical, petrochemical, plastics, pharmaceutical, semi-conductor, ceramics, and textile industries.
