Qioptiq Imaging Solutions Merges With LINOS Photonics Inc., To Form Qioptiq LINOS, Inc.

Qioptiq Imaging Solutions (Fairport, NY) has merged with LINOS Photonics Inc. (Milford, MA) consolidating the two North American Qioptiq Group commercial optical systems operations. The new combined company, Qioptiq LINOS, Inc., is headquartered in Fairport, New York with supporting satellite offices in New England, Chicago, and Florida. The logistical transfer of operations is expected for the second quarter of 2009.

This merger marks a milestone in the Qioptiq Group's acquisition of LINOS AG (Göttingen), which began in early 2006. This merger represents the foundation of a premier photonics and optical solutions provider in North America. With this important strategic goal met, the combined organization is now poised to serve the growing needs of a modern optics and photonics industry with a wider range of standard product, a deeper technology pool and a broader range of domestic technical, engineering and support services. William Gilman will continue his role from Qioptiq Imaging Solutions Inc. as President & CEO of Qioptiq LINOS Inc., while former President of LINOS Photonics, Inc., Gary Bishop, assumes the role of Sr. VP, Sales & Marketing to lead the company's growth and business development activities.
