QE-Enhanced ORCA-Flash 4.0 V3 Digital CMOS Camera
The ORCA-Flash 4.0 V3 from Hamamatsu is a digital CMOS camera that is QE-enhanced, making it a much more versatile and powerful camera for fluorescence and other widefield microscopy applications. Built on a Gen II sCMOS sensor, this camera features the ability to deliver intelligent data reduction, highly refined in-camera, pixel-level calibrations, increased USB3.0 frame rates, purposeful and innovative triggering capabilities, patented lightsheet read out modes, and individual camera noise characterization. Along with these features, other enhancements have been made to this CMOS camera system.
Calibrated for Quantitative Accuracy
The ORCA-Flash 4.0 V3 is carefully calibrated to deliver high linearity, improved photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) and dark signal non-uniformity (DSNU), and reduced fixed pattern noise. Each camera ships with a certificate providing the read noise and photoelectron conversion factor specific for that camera.
Flexibility for Customized Data Control
Each ORCA-Flash 4.0 V3 camera is capable of USB3.0 or Camera Link output. The camera also offers data reduction through user-controllable look up tables (LUT) for 12 or 8-bit output.
Patented Tools for Advanced Imaging
Patented tools used by the ORCA-Flash 4.0 V3 include the Lightsheet Readout Mode for enhancing the quality of lightsheet images, the W-VIEW GEMINI image splitting optics for powerful dual wavelength imaging, and the W-VIEW Mode for balanced dual color imaging.
Focus on the Relevant Data
The new Enhanced Visualization Mode is designed to “pop” the contrast of the displayed image while saving sCMOS raw image data to a disk. This mode also features the option of multi-level , user-selectable, hot pixel reduction.
Powerful Triggering for Synchronization
The new Master Pulse timing generator allows the ORCA-Flash 4.0 V3 to perform functions such as synchronizing multiple cameras and devices that would have previously required an external pulse generator.
Applications
- Fluorescence microscopy
- Uper-resolution microscopy
