Pulsed Laser System
The operational flexibility of the Polaris is achieved through two built-in ports. An RS-232 serial port allows for a PC interface while the additional port allows operation through the Polaris' remote panel or through external TTL controls. The Polaris also facilitates setup by incorporating a compact power supply. Both models feature power supply measuring 14.5" x 7.65" x 10.9" and weighing 30 lbs. The power supply operates off of 100 VAC to 240 VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
This laser system is offered in two models, the Polaris II and the Polaris III. Both models offer a wide-body laser head that accommodates harmonic generators and an optical attenuator. The Polaris II provides 50-mJ pulses at 1064 nm while the Polaris III provides 90-mJ pulses at the same wavelength. The repetition rate for the Polaris II is 20 Hz or 30 Hz while the Polaris III offers repetition rates of 10 Hz or 20 Hz.
Options available for the Polaris include a motorized optical attenuator; harmonic generators and dichroic mirror sets for 532 nm, 355 nm and 266 nm; and heaters for Polaris II harmonic generators—heaters are standard for Polaris III harmonic generators.
