The PVM-4150 is a compact, modular 1,500 V pulse generator designed for OEM applications
The PVM-4150 is a compact, modular 1,500 V pulse generator designed for OEM applications in spectrometers, accelerators, acoustical analysis equipment, radar transmitters, and other systems and instruments requiring high voltage, precision pulses. Optimized for driving high impedance capacitive loads, it is suitable for driving or gating grids and plates for beam deflection and ion extraction in time-of-flight mass spectrometers and linear accelerators, as well as tube grids, Pockels Cells and Q Switches, acoustic transducers, microchannel plates and image intensifiers.

The device generates positive or negative output pulses of up to 1,500 V with typical pulse rise and fall times of 20 ns. Pulse widths are continuously adjustable from <60 ns to DC, at frequencies from single-shot to >1 MHz. The pulser is protected against arcs, short circuits and load transients.

It operates on +24 VDC to +28 VDC support power, and is gated by an external TTL gate input. The device is a complete pulser solution with energy storage and output network, ready for use. It can be connected directly to the load, and does not require series or shunt resistors, impedance-matching networks between the pulser and the load, or additional energy storage (capacitor banks). The all solid-state design uses air as the primary insulating medium.
