Ultrasonic handpieces are being used with growing frequency in medical applications, e.g., for minimally invasive surgical procedures and in dentistry.
These instruments, which include ultrasonic scalpels, phaco handpieces and scalers, use acoustic waves to facilitate the processing of hard or soft tissue.
