PI/Acton Introduces New Quad-RO X-Ray CCD Camera
Princeton Instruments/Acton (PI/Acton) recently announced the addition of a new 16 Mpixel fiber-optically coupled camera - Quad-RO: 4096, for indirect X-ray imaging applications.
"The brand new Quad-RO: 4096, for the first time in the industry offers highest flexibility for demanding applications by delivering maintenance free (thermoelectrically cooled) camera in a compact package with better than ± 0.1°C temp. precision and industry standard Fire-wire (IEEE 1394a) interface" says Manjul Shah PI/Acton product manager. "The unique electronic design that balances 4-quadrants within 0.5% to deliver extremely uniform images has never been achieved in a large format scientific camera."
The Quad-RO: 4096 camera targets a wide variety of applications such as X-ray microtomography, X-ray phase contrast imaging, X-ray diffraction, crystallography, industrial & medical imaging and electron imaging. This milestone in high performance indirect x-ray imaging, maintains the PI/Acton no-compromise approach. Ease-of-use is unmatched in the industry, with the compact single head design and fire-wire (IEEE 1394a) interface.
The Quad-RO: 4096 is offered with front-illuminated, 4096 x 4096 format sensor with 15 µm pixels and large 61.44 x 61.44 mm image area. This thermoelectric, peltier cooled camera comes loaded with advanced features such as electronically balanced 4-quadrants to deliver extremely uniform image, software selectable three independent gains and software selectable dual speed (1 MHz and 500 kHz) for maximum flexibility and onboard storage memory to guarantee error free images. It incorporates full triggering and shutter control capabilities and can be programmed to read from 4-ports (for high throughput) or 1-port (for lowest possible system noise). It is packaged with the renowned WinView software, featuring powerful data acquisition capabilities and macro record feature for quick and easy automation of complex experiments and is available with the Linux driver.
