Hamamatsu's new technology for increased quantum efficiency (QE) is the UBA and SBA series photocathodes. The UBA photocathode typically climbs to 43% QE at certain wavelengths, and the SBA photocathode goes as high as 35% QE. Both types deliver significantly higher performance than conventional bialkali photocathodes. Hamamatsu offers a wide selection of PMTs with the UBA or SBA photocathode.
