Source: Photodigm
Photodigm, Inc. was formed from an association of two professionals in the field of semiconductor and photonic technologies. Dr. Gary Evans, Professor of Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University, is a world renown expert in the design and fabrication of semiconductor lasers. Dr. John E. Spencer was founder of PlasmaQuest, a supplier of plasma etch and CVD equipment to the semiconductor industry and served as its president before its acquisition by ASTeX in 1998. Supported by engineering professionals in areas of electrical, process, and mechanical engineering, Dr. Spencer and Dr. Evans established Photodigm to provide innovations to the photonics industry in the areas of laser design, computer aided engineering, holographic grating lithography and process engineering.

Photodigm, Inc. provides the following services and products:

  • Holographic grating lithography services: maskless exposure and etch on wafers up to 2 inches in diameter
  • Photonic design services: Quantum well structures; epitaxial designs; distributed feedback and distributed Bragg reflector lasers; grating assisted couplers; optical and fiber waveguides
  • SPOCK (TM) photonic design software, sold through University Network Publishers, Inc.
  • PHASER (TM) Step and repeat laser holography system for exposure of gratings on wafers up to 6 inches in diameter
