Phase Mask and Specialty Optical Communication Fiber

The Lasiris Ultra-Long Phase Mask is a holographic phase mask with a grating length of 150mm. The phase mask is used to produce fiber Bragg gratings, which, when recorded or "photoimprinted" on the core of photosensitive optical fiber, optimize the transmission of data and/or voice traffic over high-capacity fiberoptic networks by demultiplexing the different channels.

The Photo-Sensitive Radiation Mode Suppression Fiber is a single-mode fiber designed for operation at 1275/1650nm. It is compatible with conventional single-mode fiber, and its mode field diameter and numerical aperture enable low splice losses. The fiber is photosensitive to UV radiation specifically for the recording of fiber Bragg gratings. The inner cladding and core are both photosensitive,so that gratings can be recorded in each of these areas. This grating arrangement minimizes transmission losses by virtually eliminating cladding modes.
