Osmic's mission is to be the world's best in producing X-ray and neutron multilayer coatings, optics, and instruments. Osmic's products enable improvements in instrumentation and materials used by many industries to better their products. Today thousands of Osmic's multilayer optics are in use in x-ray spectrometers and diffractometers made by such companies as Philips, Bruker, Rigaku, Applied Research Labs (ARL), Shimadzu, JEOL, CAMECA, Oxford Microspec, Peak Instruments, and others. Osmic's synchrotron optics are in use at the National Synchrotron Light Source in the Brookhaven National Lab, the SurfII facility at NIST, the Photon Factory, the new Spring-8 facility in Japan, and other synchrotrons world-wide. Neumir optics are in use at neutron diffraction facilities world-wide, including U.S. National Labs at NIST, Oak Ridge, Argonne and the KEK and JAERI facilities in Japan.
