Optical Transceiver With Integrated Amplifier

A family of optical transceivers for access network applications incorporates a transimpedance amplifier in a compact 14-pin DIL package to reduce the electrical interference and inductance effects generated by external circuitry. The ASOC devices operate at bit rates up to 155 Mbit/s and are compatible with SONET and SDH protocols. The devices are available with a choice of two output powers, transmitting at 1310 nm and receiving at 1550 nm, or vice-versa. An integrated transceiver/TIA unit operating at a single wavelength will also be available.
