Ontar is a small research and development company formed in 1981 to provide service contracts for government, university and industrial facilities. Ontar specializes in image processing, atmospheric science, technical software development, electronic publishing, custom workshops and sales.

Ontar is the leading supplier of a complete line of software for meteorological applications in radiative transport, atmospheric propagation and sensor modeling for varying weather conditions, including: clouds, rain, aerosols, diurnal and seasonal conditions, and arbitrary viewing geometry. Our MS Windows-based PcModWin, PcLnWin and HitranPC are based on validated US Government models and databases, including MODTRAN, FASCODE and HITRAN. They accurately predict atmospheric transmission and radiance from the UV through the microwave spectral region over a wide range on input conditions.

We offer sensor design and evaluation software for single detector and imaging systems, which can be used to evaluate system performance under varying weather, background and atmospheric effects scenarios. PcEosael is a state-of-the-art computer library comprised of fast-running computer programs that mathematically describe aspects of electromagnetic propagation in battlefield environments. The 25 modules are connected through an extensive routine, but often are exercised individually. LidarPC is used to simulate and model the Lidar equation for a pulsed radar or lidar system.

Ontar is leading the way in advanced distributed learning with its new TENOR (c) web-based training system. This innovative, interactive distance learning system was developed under an Air Force SBIR program.

Ontar also offers hard-cover and electronic books, custom calculations, custom software development, and onsite & offsite training workshops for users of all ability levels.
