One-dimensional Position Sensitive Detector for Incident Light Angles Introduced by Hamamatsu Corporation

Hamamatsu Corporation introduces the S8158 circular one-dimensional position sensitive detector (PSD) designed for detecting incident light angles whose origin point is the center of the active area. The S8158 accomplishes precise detection of incident light angles through circular PSD terminals that detect the angle while a photodiode monitors the center position alignment.

Covering the spectral response range of 320 nm to 1100 nm, the S8158 achieves peak photo sensitivity of 0.55 A/W at 960 nm. The circular PSD has a dark current of 0.05 nA and a rise time of 10 ms. Active area of the S8158 is 0.54 mm on the inner diameter and 2.10 mm on the outer diameter.

The S8158 has an operating temperature of –25° to +85° C. Compact in size, the PSD measures .025 H x 7.9W x 4.1 D (mm). It is priced at $2.50 in OEM quantities and available for delivery in 6 to 8 weeks.
