All-new HR2000+ Generates up to 1,000 Full Spectral Scans Every Second and Achieves Optical Resolution to 0.035 nm (FWHM)

Dunedin, FL -- Ocean Optics introduces the HR2000+, a remarkably fast, high-resolution spectrometer that generates up to 1,000 full spectral scans every second and can achieve optical resolution to 0.035 nm (FWHM). The HR2000+ is perfect for chemical, biochemical and other applications where fast reactions need to be monitored and fine spectral features need to be resolved.

The HR2000+ integrates into a high-resolution optical bench a powerful 2-MHz A/D converter, programmable electronics, a 2048-element CCD-array detector, and a USB 2.0 port. This innovative combination allows users to capture and store a full spectral scan into memory every millisecond when the spectrometer is interfaced to a PC via the USB port.

The HR2000+ features an onboard programmable microcontroller that provides considerable flexibility in controlling the spectrometer and accessories. The module has 10 user-programmable digital I/O lines for interfacing to other equipment, and a pulse generator for triggering other devices. Users can use the I/Os to flash a lamp, stop/start a process, and send a message/alarm during the spectrometer's integration period.

The spectrometer's operating parameters can be controlled through software. Wavelength calibration coefficients unique to each spectrometer are programmed into a memory chip right on the spectrometer.

The exceptional 0.035 nm optical resolution of the HR2000+ is achieved by using the Ocean Optics High-resolution Optical Bench a 25.4-mm diameter, 101.6-mm focal length, symmetrical crossed Czerny-Turner optical design. The HR2000+ is responsive from 200-1100 nm, but its specific range and resolution depend on a user's grating and entrance slit selections. Users can select from 14 gratings and 6 slit sizes. Ocean Optics offers hundreds of accessories allowing users to configure application-specific systems.
