KrellTech’s NOVA™ Workholder delivers the versatility and precision necessary for modern photonic component production. Designed to handle the delicate geometry of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) and fiber arrays, the fixture features fully adjustable polishing angles from 0 to 45 degrees to meet diverse processing requirements. The system is highly adaptable to component size, with a standard model supporting edge widths from 3mm to 25mm and an extended length model capable of handling components up to 50mm wide. It also accommodates a variety of substrate thicknesses ranging from approximately 0.5mm to less than 5mm, making it an essential tool for both prototyping and volume manufacturing.

To suit different production scales, the NOVA™ Workholder is available in multiple configurations, including single-position variable angle models for manual or automated processing, four-position manual variable angle versions, and high-throughput eight-position fixed angle fixtures. The system utilizes ergonomic PIC and waveguide carriers that ensure repeatable mounting and stability during the polishing cycle. By integrating seamlessly with NV-FLEX and NV-FLEX-A fixtures, the NOVA™ Workholder provides a robust platform for achieving consistent, high-quality finishes on the most critical photonic devices.
