NIL Technology To Demonstrate Metalens Camera Module At SPIE Photonics West

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – NIL Technology (NILT), a leading optical solutions company, will exhibit products, solutions, and demonstrate a complete imaging system built around the pioneering 1M metalens at SPIE Photonics West 2022, which will be held in San Francisco from January 22-27.

With this system, NILT proves that the metalens technology is ready to be designed into various applications including mobile 3D sensing, face recognition, eye-tracking, NIR security imaging, automotive driver monitoring systems, and industrial machine vision.

The compact camera module consists of NILT's 1M metalens, a tier 1 commercial 1/9” CMOS image sensor, and an infra-red bandpass filter centered around 940 nm. The USB camera is illuminated by a commercial VCSEL array.

The NILT 1M module demonstration will show a live video feed from their 1M camera module on a large monitor. The scene will include both technical targets and everyday items such as toys and clock faces.

Theodor Nielsen, CEO and Founder of NILT, will present NILT's latest development and results in masters for replication of surface relief waveguides and NILT's compact optical solutions for 3D sensing in person on January 23, 2022, 2:30 PM PST as part of SPIE AR|VR|MR Invites Talks.

Ulrich Quaade, Head of Optics at NILT, will be addressing optical efficiency of metalenses for imaging applications at infrared wavelengths. He will talk in person on  January 26, 2022, 4:40 PM PST.

Brian Bilenberg, Executive VP Mastering & Founder will give a technical talk poster presentation on January 23 -25 on uniformity control of large area diffraction gratings for AR surface relief waveguide masters.
